Split Level Pipe Rack
Drop front storage |
Mark and I have talked about making a pipe rack that would hold regular sized pipes and some churchwardens. We have both made a couple that do this, but I don't think any of them have succeeded as well as this rack that Mark just completed. It makes great use of space by adding plenty of storage with a combination of drawers and a good sized drop front at the bottm. A really nice design and great execution. -T

Smokingpipes Tobacco Jars
I see that Smokingpipes has restocked their tobacco jars. These are great containers. I have several of them and they store about a 1/2 lb tobacco really well. You can get 2 different versions of Two Cousins Pipe Racks from Smokingpipes and they are both made to accommodate these jars. -T
The One That Got Away
It's no secret that I am a HUGE fan of David Enrique's pipes. I have several and want more. Recently David formed an "Alliance" with renowned French pipe maker Pierre Morel. Together they are creating a very affordable line of pipes. So far they have focused their attention on shapes based on pipes from the early days of great Danish pipe making. They are beautiful and I want one. I had hopes of getting my first one a couple of weeks ago. I found the pipe shown above on David's website and I fired off an email sure that it would soon be mine. Alas- it was already sold. Apparently I am not the only one jonesing for one of these pipes. I will try to be quicker next time ... and keep my fingers crossed ... and maybe live a more righteous life (?). I'll let you know if anything works. -T
Update- It must have been the crossed fingers, I certainly haven't even begun to attempt the "righteous life" idea - or maybe the pipe god's just smiled on me. A sort of heavenly whim. Anyway, the pipe will soon be winging it's way from France to my old Tennessee home. :)

Garden & Gun + Pipe Smoking!
Just subscribed to Garden & Gun magazine after several friends told me how good it is. Received my first issue and it is good AND there is this article about Charles Stick, a pipe smoking landscape architect. Very cool! -T
