Final Four Bound!

I can't begin to say enough about the University of Memphis' basketball team! These guys are great- Chris Douglas-Roberts, Derrick Rose Antonio Anderson, Joey Dorsey, Robert Dozier,Willie Kemp, Andre Allen, Sean Taggert, Doneal Mack -all of them! I've been watching the Tigers play since I was a kid - almost 40 years now and I have never seen a better team. UCLA next and I think everyone in Memphis is happy with this match up. Should be a heck of a game! -T

Jack Howell Nosewarmer!

I am down right thrilled with my new Jack Howell pipe. I can't say enough good things about it. It smokes great, it feels great and I love the way it looks! Only 5 inches long  but with a large bowl, it fits in my pocket and provides a long smoke. If you haven't jumped on the Howell train yet, I'd say do it soon before everyone realizes just how good Jack's pipes are and he ups the price! -T

Snow In March!

Don't blame Climate Change or Global Warming for this one- It happens every few years. Many of our biggest snow storms happen in March. This one dumped over 6 inches of snow. That's a lot for us. -T

Wolfgang Becker

After some friendly needling, German pipe maker extraordinaire Wolfgang Becker finally sent me a few photos of his workshop. He says it's small but it must be big enough - he sure makes some fantastic pipes there!
The Two Cousins are lucky enough to be sharing a table at the Chicago Show w/ Wolfgang and Cornelius Mänz. Needless to say, we're pretty danged excited! if you make it to the show, please stop by and say "hi". -T

Tampers

Tim and I like to go tromping through the Mississippi and Tennessee woods together as often as we can. I often find myself picking up a twig to use as a tamper as we sit down on a fallen tree to pack our pipes and light up. Recently I started bringing some of these twigs home and turning them into tampers by adding a brass end to them, which I make from spent rifle cartridges . I think they are kind of cool. All you need to make one for yourself is a twig, a spent cartridge, a tube cutter and some epoxy. (I put a couple of coats of varnish and then waxed and buffed mine, but to each his own!)  -M
